Hi, I'm Mayoorakanth Kasinathan!

Maya- Wedding dress
I designed a 3D model of a 1993 Sri Lankan wedding dress for the movie Lunchbox. I used Marvelous Designer to make the fabric, added textures with Substance Painter, and then rendered the final look in Blender 3D.
Maya with Son - LunchBox
I'm excited to introduce our Lunchbox movie character, a group project we're very proud of. We’ve put a lot of effort into creating the character art and continually strive to improve. I hand-painted textures and developed stylized skin textures, materials, and shaders using Substance Painter. Additionally, I created clothing for our short film using Marvelous Designer's new features. This project was a great learning experience and pushed me to reinvent my workflow in character creation. Guru ji - prayer
Calm and peaceful, he sits with his eyes closed and hands together in a namaste, likely embodying the qualities of a gentle and wise spiritual leader. The final output of this character reveal is depicted in the picture below. Sculpting was completed in ZBrush, with hair grooming and rendering done in Blender 3D. Texturing was achieved using Substance 3D Painter, and compositing was finalized in Photoshop.
Mr. Right
Mr. Right is an old man with a stubborn and annoying demeanor. He has a wiry frame and critical eyes, and a pipe is usually clamped between his teeth, which enhances his serious appearance. This character reveal is depicted in the image below. Sculpting was done in ZBrush, hair grooming and rendering were completed in Blender 3D, texturing was achieved using Substance 3D Painter, and compositing was finalized in Photoshop.
Marvelous Designer- Simulations
I created this character model and pose at the request of a clothing designer to showcase the design to the client before production. This approach provides the customer with a realistic view of the clothes. I designed the clothing in Marvelous Designer, texturized it in Substance Painter, and rendered it in Blender 3D.
Elephant
In this project, I created a detailed 3D model of an elephant in ZBrush, sculpting the main shapes to achieve the correct proportions and anatomy. To enhance realism, I added fine details using the same alpha map for the skin's texture. I performed the retopology in Blender to prepare the model for rigging and animation, resulting in a clean mesh that allows for smooth and realistic movements. The hand-painted texture was crafted in Substance Painter with consistent texture projection, and I managed the lighting and rendering in Blender 3D.
Elephant - UE5
This time, I decided to use Unreal Engine 4.26 to render the elephant and create my own workflow by experimenting with Alembic hair. I also chose to create some cinematic renders of the elephant to make it more interesting.
Gun for games
This gun model I optimized for games. The images show the differ ent stages of the model, including the final textured version, a shaded version, and a wireframe version. Modeling, retopology, and rendering were done in Blender 3D. I used Substance 3D Painter for texturing and composited in Photoshop
Little Girl
This is my first stylized character and my first game character, created using a real-time engine and workflow. I designed the concept, and the image below shows the final output along with the grey render. Sculpting was completed in ZBrush, hair grooming and rendering were done in Blender 3D, and texturing was achieved with Substance 3D Painter. The game was played in Unreal Engine."
Say hello to Bunny
This is my personal project. I was inspired by the movie Zootopia and recreated it in a modern style. Sculpting was done in ZBrush, retopology, hair grooming and rendering were done in Blender 3D. I used Substance 3D Painter for texturing and composited it in Photoshop.
Stylized Sun sword / Blender practice
I designed a Stylized Sun Sword for gaming using Blender 3D. I started by modeling the sword in Blender, then added textures with Substance Painter. Finally, I set up the lighting and rendered the sword in Blender to make sure it looked great.
Metahuman
I made character animations using MetaHuman in Unreal Engine. This let me create realistic animations with detailed characters, using Unreal Engine’s tools to bring them to life.
Recreating memories from Jaffna - Unreal Engine
This personal project, inspired by Jaffna Road, features a realistic environment. I worked on making it look cinematic with real-time rendering, setting up the scene, lighting, car animation, camera setup, and look development.
Kingdom of the Apes - Unreal Engine
This personal project, inspired by the Apes movie, involved making it look cinematic with real-time rendering. I worked on setting up the scene, lighting, camera setup, look development, as well as rigging and animation in Blender 3D.
Old man portrait
I wanted to pay more attention to my references because I often do many things from memory. Still, sometimes I forget to look at my second screen, though. Also, this time I wanted to use TexturingXYZ as displacement maps. Earlier, I placed them in ZBrush as alphas. Usually, people do this in Mari, but I wanted to see how Mari would handle it. For a first try, I think it's quite good, but I can probably still do better.
Jungle Dragon
This is my first creature model using ZBrush and Maya. I used ZRemesher in ZBrush to retopologize the character easily. Retopology cleans up and simplifies the mesh. I had to manually fix some vertices in Maya before texturing.
Abandoned House
The project title is Abandoned House. For this scene, I created a concept, and based on that concept, I developed the 3D scene. I used 3ds Max for modeling, lighting, and rendering. I utilized FlameFX for the lamp flame, and the texturing was done in Substance Painter.
Wine Glass & Bottles
This wine glass scene was created based on a concept I developed. I designed it in 3ds Max, handling the modeling, lighting, and rendering there. The textures were done in 3D Coat.
Zeal - Short film 2019
My short film, Zeal, was created in 2019 for my second-year assignments. I used 3ds Max for modeling, lighting, and rendering, while the textures were applied using Substance Painter. This project showcases my skills and creativity developed during that time.
Old Spaceship - Zeal
One of two environments created for the CG animated short film "Zeal." This was part of my 2nd Year Animation project. The environments were modeled with Maya, textured using Substance Painter, and rendered with V-Ray
Sci-fi Robot- Zeal
This is my short film robot character. One character is the main character, and the other one is a supporting character. I did the modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering in 3Ds Max, and the texturing in Substance Painter.
